This is a civilian example of the Omega 2179 cal. 30T2 watch, the same model as the Omega "US ARMY" watch, acquired from Omega by the US government after WWII.
I acquired this piece in 2005. The original radium luminous was missing from the hands, and was replaced by Jack@IWW with non-luminous vintage tint paint. The movement was also serviced at that time, and the watch has remained unworn since, although I occasionally wind it. The dial, case, and crown are all original and unmolested. The crown is quite sharp.
The dial has acquired a rather even, golden patina, with very little in the way of the pitting so often seen on the dials of these watches. In my experience, it is an uncommonly clean example.
$695 shipped in the US or Canada, shipping to other destinations available at cost. The watch is offered head only. If you'd like the unworn black Hadley-Roma caiman crocodile strap with white contrasting stitching, as shown, please add $50. PayPal gladly accepted, I will also accept a personal check if I know you. Thanks for looking.
I forgot to wipe down the case before I took the photos, so there are fingerprints all over, sorry...
